How to Save Recipes from Apple Notes

Move your chaotic Apple Notes recipe collection into a purpose-built recipe manager with Minichef.

Apple Notes is great for quick grocery lists, but it’s a terrible recipe manager. Searching through hundreds of notes to find that one chicken recipe you saved three years ago is frustrating.

Minichef is designed specifically for cooking, with smart scaling, timers, and categories.

How it works

You can easily move your recipes out of Apple Notes and into Minichef.

  1. Open the recipe in Apple Notes.
  2. Tap the Share icon at the top of the note.
  3. Select Minichef from your share options.
  4. Minichef will organize the loose text in your note into a structured recipe!

Troubleshooting

“The formatting is messed up.” If your Apple Note has a lot of extra non-recipe text (like diary entries before the recipe), Minichef’s AI will try its best to filter it out. If it misses something, you can easily tap the drafted recipe to edit it and clean it up before saving.
